Sophia Archuleta, MD

Dr. Archuleta is an infectious diseases physician, educator, and leader in academic medicine, currently serving as head of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the National University Hospital and as Associate Professor of Medicine at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. She also holds key roles as assistant dean for Equal Opportunities & Career Development and senior consultant to Singapore’s Communicable Diseases Agency. Previously, Dr. Archuleta served as Chair of the Medicine-Based Review Committee-International. A graduate of Yale University and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Archuleta completed her graduate medical education (GME) in internal medicine and infectious diseases at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She has led national HIV programs, developed clinical guidelines, and spearheaded initiatives in pandemic response and gender equity. Her prolific scholarship spans more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and presentations on infectious diseases and medical education, and she is internationally recognized for her contributions to HIV care, regional capacity-building, and international GME. A passionate mentor and advocate, Dr. Archuleta continues to shape health care policy, clinical practice, and education across Asia and beyond.
