Attendees from 19 countries, representing most ACGME-I-accredited Sponsoring Institutions, joined thousands of their graduate medical education (GME) colleagues for three days of learning, sharing, networking, and collaborating at the 2025 ACGME Annual Educational Conference, held on 20-22 February 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee, US. With a record attendance exceeding 5,000, attendees made the most of many educational sessions and networking opportunities, both formal and informal.

ACGME-I joined the global medical education community at the flagship event for the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), participating as exhibitor, sponsor, and presenter at the WFME World Conference 2025, held 25-28 May in Bangkok, Thailand.

Six graduate medical education professionals from ACGME-I-accredited institutions and programs are honored by the awards, including the renamed award for Physician Leader to honor Dr. Susan H. Day.

JGME launched its focused section, “GME Around the World,” to bring attention to the global nature of graduate medical education (GME) with an editorial in October 2024, “GME Around the World”: Introducing JGME’s New Section for International Perspectives in Graduate Medical Education, which also provides practical advice for submitting a manuscript for consideration. 

A ceremony highlighting the six new ACGME-I-accredited Sponsoring Institutions was held during the 2nd International Conference on Advancing Postgraduate Medical Education in Jakarta, Indonesia.

At the 16th International Conference on Medical Regulation in 2025 in Dublin, ACGME-I spoke on novel approaches to continuous quality improvements to GME programs, and exhibited alongside ACGME Global Services.  

Revised Requirements will come into effect July 2026.
